ABOUT NATURE’S RECIPE® CAT FOOD:
Q.) What makes Nature's Recipe® cat food special?
A.) Nature's Recipe® cat food has created a line of great-tasting recipes that specifically avoid ingredients that can lead to food intolerance. Unlike many other premium cat foods, Nature’s Recipe® cat food never uses beef or wheat. We only us highly digestible ingredients – proteins like chicken and rabbit, carbohydrates like rice – plus the right combination of vitamins, mineral and essential nutrients. To enhance flavor, we use natural ingredients like meat broths and salmon oil. And, when the benefits of fiber are needed, we use natural sources from green peas and tomatoes.
And because it’s Nature’s Recipe® cat food, you won’t find a single artificial preservative, flavor or color. Nature's Recipe® uses protein and fat that are preserved with mixed tocopherols, not synthetic preservatives.

Q.) What is the history of Nature's Recipe® in creating innovative diets to meet the special needs of cat owners?
A.) Originally, our diets were created as all-natural, home-cooked meals to meet the special needs of pets with life-threatening allergies to common pet food ingredients. This experience inspired us to develop a special line of diets so pet owners could have access to natural pet foods for special needs. The result was Nature's Recipe®, the first company to approach pet health through an all-natural scientific regimen. A few of our innovations for cats include:
- First to use a blend of chicken, salmon and vegetable oils to provide Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids for healthy skin and soft, lustrous coats

Q.) Do you make a vegetarian food for cats?
A.) Cats, unlike humans or dogs, are strict carnivores and have very high protein requirements. They do not require plant products in their diet. For example, cats do not have a strict requirement for carbohydrates and can't utilize beta-carotene as a source of vitamin A. For this reason we have not developed a vegetarian formula for cats.

Q.) Do you have a unique protein source formula for cats?
A.) We offer a canned Rabbit & Rice formula that contains a unique protein source (rabbit). Since many cats have not had rabbit meat, this may work for cats who have developed sensitivities to traditional protein sources.

Q.) What are the benefits of feeding my cat Nature's Recipe® Urinary System Formula?
A.)
House cats are particularly susceptible to urinary system problems, especially if they are spayed or neutered. Nature's Recipe® Urinary System Formula provides a complete and balanced diet with selected protein meals and mineral sources. Q.) My cat has not had problems with hairballs in the past. Should I consider using Nature's Recipe® Hairball Control Formula now?
A.)
Even though your cat currently does not experience hairball problems, you may want to feed Nature's Recipe® Hairball Control to prevent hairballs from forming in the future. All cats groom themselves daily, even more frequently during the transition from winter to summer coats. And since Nature's Recipe® Hairball Recipe is made with the same high-quality ingredients as our Lifestages products, your cat will get the same great taste he already enjoys.

ABOUT FEEDING NATURE’S RECIPE® CAT FOOD:
Q.) At what age should a cat start to eat a senior diet?
A.)
There is not a set age range established for feeding a senior diet. Typically, a senior diet is recommended by your veterinarian to address subtle changes in you cat's blood results that can be managed with a diet that is reduced in certain nutrients.

Q.) How do you recommend feeding a cat that is on a special diet in a multi-cat household?
A.)
Unfortunately, the best recommendation is to feed this cat separately from the other cats and keep the other food away from the cat on the special diet. This is difficult in multi-cat households, but can be accomplished with meal feeding as opposed to leaving the food out all of the time.
